The Eplerenone Post–Acute Myocardial Infarction Heart Failure Efficacy and Survival Study (EPHESUS) was a trial to evaluate the effect of eplerenone—an aldosterone blocker that selectively blocks the mineralocorticoid receptor—on overall mortality in 6,632 patients (1,918 women, 29%) with acute myocardial infarction complicated by left ventricular dysfunction and HF who were receiving optimal medical therapy. Here, NR3C2 is linked to myocardial infarction.
