By performing scRNA-seq on collagen 1α1 green fluorescent protein (GFP)+ fibroblasts after myocardial infarction, Ruiz-Villalba et al. (69) found that activated fibroblasts up-regulate collagen triple helix repeat containing 1 (Cthrc1) in the early stage of myocardial infarction and participate in collagen synthesis through TGF-β signaling, to promote healing and prevent heart rupture. Here, CTHRC1 is linked to myocardial infarction.
