The C-reactive protein (CRP) has been found to be pathogenic, and its expression is significantly correlated with dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP4) diabetic nephropathy patients, although the reason is unknown; however, studies performed on mice with DPP4 inhibitors have effectively blocked this CRP-driven DN [34]. The gene discussed is DPP4; the disease is liver dysplastic nodule.
