ADAR and melanoma: Interestingly, the importance of the upregulation of the ADAR1p150 isoform, but not ADAR1p110, in the progression, aggressiveness, and growth of several malignancies, such as acute myeloid leukaemia [15], triple-negative breast cancer [32], and melanoma [33] has been revealed, suggesting that chronic inflammation in cancer disease may bypass the cellular control of ADAR1 through the mentioned negative feedback loop.
