Malignant melanoma has multiple mutations on several oncogenes that are associated with cell proliferation (viz., BRAF, NRAS, p53, CDK4, and PI3K genes) [15] and have been shown to have high nutrient transporter expression, including LAT1 and ASCT2 amino acid transporter [16] and GLUT1 glucose transporter [17].
