Patients with metabolic syndrome may have dyslipidemia, including hypertriglyceridemia, high blood levels of apolipoprotein B (apo B) and LDL, and low HDL levels (63). It seems that the use of some plants as complementary therapeutics or extraction of their active ingredients along with currently available drugs will improve the management of hypertriglyceridemia in patients (64). This evidence concerns the gene APOB and metabolic syndrome.
