In the fully adjusted model (which included BMI but not waist circumference), IL-6 was positively associated with breast cancer risk (continuous variable only, ORper SD increment = 1.33 (1.11–1.60)), as was TNF-α (ORper SD increment = 1.32 (1.11–1.58); ORQ4vsQ1 = 2.03 (1.26–3.26), P-trend = 0.006). This evidence concerns the gene TNF and breast carcinoma.
