During embryological development, the HoxC genes encode transcription factors for the anterior-posterior axis of the intestine.12-14 Long noncoding RNAs, which are transcribed from the antisense sequence of the HOXC gene, have an important role in the cells’ system such as chromatin remodeling, epigenetic arrangement, gene silencing, regulation of gene expression, etc.6,8 The association of overexpression of HOTAIR with tumor cell invasion, recurrence, and poor prognosis in some malignant tumors has still been under investigation. This evidence concerns the gene HOTAIR and neoplasm.
