In our previous study, periodontal disease in FBN-1-deficient mice (FBN-1c1039G/+mice), an MFS model mice which developed aortic aneurysm and dissection, interfered with wound healing of diseased periodontal tissue due to a continuous expression of inflammatory markers such as TNF-alpha and matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) [11]. This evidence concerns the gene MMP9 and aortic aneurysm.
