PGF and preeclampsia: The lack of SA remodeling and accompanying placental ischemia caused by uninephrectomy led to alterations in many circulating molecules; however, recombinant PlGF (18), a natural antagonist for sFLT1, was sufficient to rescue the maternal signs of preeclampsia, confirming the contribution of sFLT1 in mediating the late pregnancy maternal preeclampsia–like phenotypes in UNx animals.
