MARK4 and central nervous system cancer: MARK4 is overexpressed in various metabolic conditions, including diet-induced obesity, cardiovascular disease, type II diabetes, Alzheimer’s disease, hepatocellular carcinoma, glioma, and metastatic breast carcinomas, etc. It’s overexpressed in cancerous cells, including hepatocellular carcinoma and leukemia, and associated with breast and prostate cancer growth.
