Production of IL-8, sometimes called chemokine (C-X-C motif) ligand 8 or CXCL-8, is a hallmark of inflammation and responsible for neutrophil recruitment and activation and in several age-related diseases such as osteoporosis, Alzheimer’s disease (AD), or rheumatoid arthritis (41–43). Here, CXCL8 is linked to rheumatoid arthritis.
