Low dietary energy intake may be due to the reduced secretion of ghrelin.62 Ghrelin could enhance vascular activity and angiogenesis and regulate blood pressure.63 A study on young Japanese women showed that low energy intake might result in low sleep quality,64 and low sleep quality was related to hypertension.65 A meta-analysis showed that there was no significant difference in weight change between a large and a small dinner,66 which indirectly supported our results. Here, GHRL is linked to hypertensive disorder.
