TREM2 and myocardial infarction: Importantly, when we used an injectable gelatin-based hydrogel, which provided physical support for the infarcted myocardium and an appropriate microenvironment for simultaneously delivering biomolecules27, the injection of sTrem2 with GH into the peri-infarct area of MI in mice resulted in higher LVEF/FS, lower ESV, and morphologically less dilated and well-remodeled LV than those in control animals, supporting the inflammation-modulating function and anti-remodeling effect of Trem2 in vivo.
