Among these 117 patients with CHB-HCC, patients with detectable HBV DNA had higher AFP concentration (p < .001), longer total (p < .001) and maximal (p = .001) tumour diameter, poorer TNM stage (p = .017), a higher percent of macrovascular invasion (p = .014) and microvascular invasion (p = .029), and higher MELD (p = .026) and Child scores (p = .039) than those with undetectable HBV DNA (Figure 2 and Table 1).
