As we all known, M2 macrophages can express a large number of scavenger receptors (Locati et al., 2020), which is related to the high-intensity expression of IL-10, IL-1β and matrix metalloproteins (MMPs) in the tumor microenvironment (Chen et al., 2017), so they have the function of promoting angiogenesis, tissue reconstruction, tumorigenesis and also tumor development. This evidence concerns the gene IL1B and neoplasm.
