To identify the mechanism that obesity and fatty acids use to promote the mitochondrial translocation of STAT3 and to independently test if trehalose lowers mitoSTAT3 due to the ability to scavenge peroxides, we tested the impact of tempol (Temp), a well-established ROS scavenger, on p-Ser727-STAT3 localization and cytokine production. This evidence concerns the gene STAT3 and obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
