According to the study of autophagy-dependent secretomes in melanoma cells, low autophagic activity contributes to a significant decrease in the serum level of IL-1β, CXCL8, LIF (leukemia inhibitory factor), FAM3C (family with sequence similarity 3, member C) and DKK3 (dickkopf WNT signaling pathway inhibitor 3) compared to melanoma cells with high levels of autophagy [217]. This evidence concerns the gene LIF and melanoma.
