EIF2AK3-rs867529 was associated with an increased risk of adenocarcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma (p < 0.025), and HSPA5-rs391957 was only related to an elevated risk of squamous cell carcinoma (p = 0.0016), while DDIT3-rs697221 was associated with risk of all three pathological types (p < 0.032). This evidence concerns the gene EIF2AK3 and adenocarcinoma.
