FGFR2 and cholangiocarcinoma: Pemigatinib (PEMAZYRETM, Incyte Corporation), a small molecule inhibitor of FGFR1, FGFR2 and FGFR3 with excellent physiochemical properties and pharmacokinetic profile, received accelerated approval in April 2020 in the USA for the treatment of adults with previously treated, unresectable, metastatic or locally advanced cholangiocarcinoma with a FGFR2 fusion or other rearrangement, as detected by a US FDA-approved test.7 It is considered the first targeted treatment for cholangiocarcinoma in the USA.
