Somatostatin analogs preferentially bind to somatostatin receptors SST2 and SST5, suppressing growth hormone (GH) secretion [11, 12], effectively controlling the biochemical parameters of acromegaly in 60 to 80% of patients (normal values of insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1) and GH < 1 μg/L) [5].
