Thus, ANP is not only released in response to changes in CBV, such as during head‐up tilt (Matzen et al., 1990) or as a consequence of cardiac disease (Elmas et al., 2008; Lindberg et al., 2015; Moertl et al., 2009), but also by infusion of adrenaline (Morrow et al., 1989; Sanfield et al., 1987; Tunny et al., 1988), apparently independent of CBV.
