Not only it is one of the most mutated genes in ovarian carcinoma (9), but its mutations have been correlated with alterations of its catalytic activity, leading to genomic instability, downregulation of genes in the homologous recombination (HR) repair pathway (10, 11) and increased sensitivity to platinum agents and PARP inhibitors (PARPi) (12, 13).
