A recent study (Zhang W. et al., 2019) suggested that resveratrol may upregulate miR-122-5p, consequently causing cell-cycle arrest of adriamycin-resistant breast cancer cells by targeting apoptosis and cell cycle key regulators such as B-cell lymphoma 2 (Bcl-2) and cyclin-dependent kinases (CDKs) (Zhang W. et al., 2019). The gene discussed is BCL2; the disease is breast cancer.
