New diagnosed AF patients had higher levels of NT-proBNP [median (IQR) 466.4 [218.7–1031.0) vs. 161.3 (57.2–377.9) pg/mL, p = 0.009] and adiponectin [11.7 (8.2–17.8) vs. 8.6 (6.0–12.9) mg/mL, p = 0.030] than non AF patients. The gene discussed is ADIPOQ; the disease is atrial fibrillation.
