PTPN2 loss of function (LOF) results in systemic autoinflammation in mice, with high systemic cytokines and anti-nuclear antibody levels, supporting the association between PTPN2 LOF and several autoimmune conditions including type I diabetes, Crohn’s disease, and Celiac disease (73, 86, 87). This evidence concerns the gene PTPN2 and Crohn disease.
