Dietary resveratrol supplementation mitigated the impact of oxidative stress-induced depression on antioxidant capacity (higher SOD, GSH-Px, GSH-ST in serum and ovary, lower MDA, PC, and 8-OHDG levels in ovary), while it also increased tryptophan and melatonin levels, but decreased kynurenine levels in serum, and changed tryptophan metabolism (lower IDO1 activity) (P < 0.05). This evidence concerns the gene SOD1 and depressive symptom measurement.
