Studies are needed to clarify the impact of limiting factors on the experimental design of this research, such as (a) the qualitative and quantitative composition of experimental groups, which was composed by a reduced size and a female gender prevalence; (b) more precise inclusion criteria regarding the time since diagnosis of celiac disease; (c) complementary measurements of protocol efficiency; (d) tests with higher sensitivity for the detection of IL-6; and (e) complementary measurements of liver disease parameters that could be correlated to CD. This evidence concerns the gene IL6 and liver disorder.
