Baig et al. (2020) demonstrated that SARS-CoV-2 also uses ACE2 to target the central nervous system (CNS). Lu et al. (2020) analysed diffusion tensor imaging and 3D high-resolution T1WI sequences of several COVID-19 patients and concluded that significant structural changes happen in different regions, such as olfactory cortices, hippocampi, insula, and cingulate gyrus. This evidence concerns the gene ACE2 and COVID-19.
