In-depth molecular studies of AQP4 in GBM suggest that the state of AQP4 aggregation into AQP4 orthogonal arrays of particles (AQP4-OAPs) and disintegration of AQP4 into tetramers may be involved in determining the fate of glioma cells (Noell et al., 2012; Wolburg et al., 2012; Simone et al., 2019).
