The prognostic factors for the recurrence-free survival in patients with CRLM are preoperative carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) level, carbohydrate antigen 19-9 (CA19-9) level, tumor diameter, tumor number, poorly differentiated primary CRC, primary lymph node metastasis, extrahepatic metastasis, and synchronous metastatic pattern [7, 8]. This evidence concerns the gene CEACAM5 and metastatic malignant neoplasm in the lymph nodes.
