The methylation levels of TRPM3/miR‐204 promoter in CRC tissues were much higher than in corresponding non‐cancerous tissues, and the treatment with 5‐aza‐dC (a DNA methyltransferase inhibitor) restores miR‐204‐5p expression in CRC cells,22 suggesting DNA methylation is a key way to regulate the expression and function of miR‐204‐5p in CRC. The gene discussed is TRPM3; the disease is colorectal carcinoma.
