Evidences have shown that the LATS2 promoter is usually hypermethylated in a variety of human tumours, such as lung cancer (~79%) [26], breast cancer (~50%) [27], and astrocytoma (~71%) [28], implying an important role of LATS2 hypermethylation in regulating biological events in tumour cells. The gene discussed is LATS2; the disease is astrocytoma (excluding glioblastoma).
