We therefore probed the data from the three Checkmate clinical trials (009, 010, and 025) (Braun et al. 2020) and the Javelin 101 clinical trial (Motzer et al. 2019) in which ccRCC patients were treated with ICI therapy (nivolumab in Checkmate and avelumab in Javelin) to investigate the relationship between PBRM1 deficiency, cytosolic DNA-sensing pathway regulation, and ICI response. This evidence concerns the gene PBRM1 and nonpapillary renal cell carcinoma.
