Additional research of asprosin regulation in an obesity model of monosodium glutamate (MSG)-induced hypothalamic obesity mice showed that 3-weeks treatment by AM6545, a peripheral cannabinoid receptor 1 (CB1R) blocker, diminishes the level of asprosin while reducing the increased body weight, dyslipidemia and intraperitoneal fat mass (Ma et al., 2018). This evidence concerns the gene CNR1 and obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
