KEGG (Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes) pathway analysis showed strong associations of the identified miRNAs with several cancer entities (e.g. gastrointestinal cancer, hepatocellular carcinoma and melanoma), as well as various signaling pathways (e.g. EGFR, PI3K-AKT, WNT and p53 signaling pathways) (Figure 5B). Here, TP53 is linked to hepatocellular carcinoma.
