IKZF1 and IKZF3 are transcription factors, which play a role in the pathogenesis of multiple myeloma but are also important in myeloid disorders; recently, Fang et al. demonstrated that lenalidomide's mechanism of action in AML and MDS is to induce cell cytotoxicity through CRBN and IKZF1 via a calcium‐dependent pathway.14, 15. This evidence concerns the gene IKZF1 and myelodysplastic syndrome.
