A recent systematic review concluded a strong association of AnxA1 overexpression with hallmarks of cancer, including uncontrolled proliferation, metastasis, lymphatic invasion and drug resistance according to studies on pancreatic, hepatic, gastric, skin and colorectal cancers [19] The aggressive behaviors are typically found in TNBC, highlighting a potential implication of AnxA1 in the oncogenesis of the poor-prognosis subtype.
