CRP and COVID-19: In a recent Chinese study about predicting indicators and pathogenesis of critical COVID‐19 cases, they concluded that disease progression warning factors, including biochemical (e.g., aspartate aminotransferase [AST] and alanine aminotransferase [ALT]), hematological (e.g., white blood cell [WBC] count and lymphocyte count), inflammatory (e.g., C‐reactive protein [CRP]), and coagulation (e.g., d‐dimer) biomarkers can increase clinical efficacy, delay the progression of mild/moderate to severe/critical disease, and lowering mortality rates.10
