In the long term (defined as 12 to 13 weeks to 7 months, depending on the study [48]), ADT leads to decreased expression of PSMA, correlating to a decrease in serum PSA, so that the sensitivity of PET/CT potentially deteriorates in this situation, as has also been confirmed clinically [49,50]; this is true for hormone-sensitive PCa as well as castration-resistant PCa [51,52]. This evidence concerns the gene FOLH1 and posterior cortical atrophy.
