In a comprehensive report by Jang and colleagues [208], 7,8-DHF was documented in mice to specifically activate TrkB in the brain, to diminish kainic acid-induced toxicity in the hippocampus, to decrease infarct volumes in a middle cerebral artery occlusion model of stroke, and it was neuroprotective in a MPTP model of Parkinson’s disease [208].
