Based on the activity profile from Acarbose, a therapeutic agent being used to inhibit amylase-mediated activity in type 2 diabetic patients [23], the activity of GMα at a concentration of 2 mg/mL (~2 μM using a mass of 1 × 106 Da) was calculated to be comparable with Acarbose at 400 μM (Table 1).
