Microscopic typical features of TFE3-tRCC harbor a papillary architecture, mostly composed of large epithelioid cells with either clear or eosinophilic cytoplasms (Figure 1A–C) and contain frequent psammoma calcifications. This evidence concerns the gene TFE3 and renal cell carcinoma associated with Xp11.2 translocations/TFE3 gene fusions.
