Our study was the first to analyze the cytokines APRIL and BAFF in peri-implant bone and soft tissue in humans with peri-implantitis; the biopsies were also the products of explantation in patients diagnosed with peri-implantitis with bone loss greater than 50% and significant aesthetic compromise, so the results could be related to an advanced stage of the disease. This evidence concerns the gene TNFSF13B and Peri-Implantitis.
