Interestingly, the LRRTM3 gene associated with autism and Tourette syndrome which encodes a neurexin 1 ligand, is discordantly regulated by transcriptional interference (https://www.westernsydney.edu.au/newscentre/news_centre/story_archive/2013/uws_researcher_cracks_the_genetic_code_for_tourette_syndrome accessed on June 2022) [33,34,35,36,37]. The gene discussed is NRXN1; the disease is autism.
