Prostate specific membrane antigen (PSMA), also known as glutamate carboxypeptidase II, is a membrane antigen overexpressed in the majority of prostate cancer cells; therefore, PSMA has proven to be a good target for diagnosis and therapy (theranostics) of prostate cancer using a variety of radiolabelled PSMA-targeting radiopharmaceuticals [8,9,10].
