In this context, we confirmed the indirect anti-ZIKV function of viperin, by showing that IFN-β has an important role associated with the up-regulation of viperin in HK-2HGC cells to limit ZIKV infection, suggesting that IFN-β was stimulated by endogenous viperin to reduce ZIKV replication. The gene discussed is IFNB1; the disease is Zika virus infectious disease.
