Casini et al. detected four TP53 variants affecting the DNA binding domain (p.A276T, p.G108S, p.C275F, p.R283fs), two KIT variants affecting the kinase domain (p.E839K, p.R634W), a deleterious p.E17K variant in AKT, and a KRAS p.G12V variant in 10 thymic carcinomas (six epidermoid carcinomas, three undifferentiated carcinomas and one lymphoepithelioma-like carcinoma) [36]. This evidence concerns the gene TP53 and squamous cell carcinoma.
