RPS6 and gastric cancer: To clarify whether the incorporation of ribosomes promotes stem cell properties and therapeutic resistance in glioma cells, investigations focusing on RPS6 were performed because the overexpression and phosphorylation of RPS6 have been reported in various types of cancers, including acute myeloid leukemia [37,127], non-Hodgkin lymphoma [128], oral squamous cell carcinoma [129], non-small cell lung cancer [39], breast cancer [130], gastric cancer [131], pancreatic cancer [38], renal cell carcinoma [132], ovarian cancer [133], melanoma [134], and others [112].
