Using this same sample of postmenopausal women with T2DM, we have previously reported that increased plasma hs-CRP levels were associated with higher levels of plasma Cer(d18:1/16:0), Cer(d18:1/22:0) and Cer(d18:1/24:1), even after adjustment for known cardiovascular risk factors and other potential confounders [2].
