Therefore, the main aim of our pilot exploratory study was to examine whether specific plasma ceramide species, which have been previously associated with increased CVD risk, were significantly associated with higher plasma LRG1 concentrations in postmenopausal women with T2DM, i.e., a group of individuals at high risk of developing adverse cardiovascular events and other inflammation-associated conditions. Here, LRG1 is linked to type 2 diabetes mellitus.
